My first White Christmas occurred Saturday.
It wasn’t the “wake-up Christmas Morning with snow” White Christmas, but it started to snow at about 2pm and lasted until Sunday Night.
I’ve been watching this storm as it developed over the past several weeks—I can tell you that accuweather.com had snow predicted for this weekend for at least 15 days out. The forecast was disappointing through Friday, when all of the weather forecast models began to tell a story of a dusting as the big storm went out to sea. This began to change through the day on Saturday as the storm approached and began to set up for the Blizzard in the Northeast.
I took a small nap on Christmas Day and was awoken by Monica telling me that it had started to snow. This was about 2pm. I came down and checked the radar and saw that we were going to be getting snow for awhile. The snow predictions began to build as the snow began to pile up. Christmas Night was filled with watching it fall.
Yesterday, was a day of continued snowfall. I was able to get out in it some and play. Today, will be a day of clean-up—but thankfully, I got most of my driveway shoveled already.
Never before have I experienced a White Christmas—so it was good to be able to be home to enjoy it. And enjoy it with the family.
