This comic book was also on my list to explore. The cover was interesting and the art inside is wonderful. A little graphic, but really good art. It wasn’t your typical comic book art, but it was more like pastels. I enjoyed looking at the different expressions on the faces and the detail Eddie Campbell drew into the comic book.
Eddie Campbell, however, needs to stick to art and stay away from writing. The first distractor of the book was that it was vulger. “GD” this and “GD” that. I had pretty much all I could take. Then, the story wasn’t that good in the first place. I think it had potential, but it never really connected.
When this book is published in June 2007, you won’t find it on myshelf. It really wasn’t worth the money I paid to buy it this time during Free Comic Book Day. I guess that is what Free Comic Book Day is all about, being able to preview what is coming soon to a comic shop near you.
The Black Diamond Detective Agency is published by First Second.
