This morning at Chapel, I was noticing how joyous the people were as they entered into the auditorium many dressed in their nicest clothes. The weather was beautiful and the auditorium was nearly full it was a great day of worship.
The week before was hard. There were heart aches and pain. But Easter changed that for a moment.
And Easter does change all of that because Easter changes our perspective.
2000 years ago or so, Jesus died on a cross and rose again three days later. And that makes all of the difference in the world.
The Bible says:
“It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”(Romans 4:24b-25 ESV)
Jesus “was delivered up for our trespasses”, which means he died in our place because of our sin. And then he was raised for our justification—so that we will know that he has defeated death; Jesus has the power over death, therefore taking away ours. We must die because the “wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23) But Jesus paid this death by dying in our place.
We can have our death taken away if we accept his payment as our own—through faith.
Through Jesus’ death—Jesus tells us that—in the end it will all be ok. No matter the struggles we endure on Earth; Jesus has conquered our death. When you accept Jesus as your payment through faith, you can know that in the end, Easter Means That It Will All Be Ok.
