It was a scary moment in the Ticonderoga home this morning. Art Ticonderoga, owner of the home, accidentally left his breakfast cooking inside the stove when he rushed to meet his carpool. Mr. Ticonderoga had been cooking waffles before departing for his job at a nearby science laboratory. Soon after his departure, the waffles broke out in flames and a fire started in the oven.
Luckily, Mr. Ticonderoga had ADT installed in his home when he build the structure. ADT quickly called the fire department and they were promptly able to get into the house. The paperboy, a witness to the scene, could care less.
A little bit more concerned that the TV was broken, one of the dispatched fireman surveyed the scene and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
The fire destroyed the $400 stove and the $150 counter space. Mr. Ticonderoga’s insurance paid only $162.
After the fire was put out, the fire department left the scene, ready to respond to other calls. Fireman on the scene spoke after the fire was put out;
“This goes to show all of us, that when Sims build homes, they must have and an adequate fire and burglar alarm put into their home, otherwise this entire house would have gone up in flames. It is also a reminder to turn off all appliances before heading out to work.”
