The week began with a quiet night of listening to Classical Music on Spotify. I probably need to write more on this later, but Spotify has been a wonderful source of encouragement this year through its strong library of music. It has opened a number of doors to introduce me to various different composers and works from composers I already enjoy.
A new practice, that started out of necessity, is my taking time to write down my tasks for the day on a notepad. Most of the time, I have these tasks already locked into my Todoist App—but, for security concerns, the Army blocked Todoist because it works through cloud software. Since it was blocked, I started copying those tasks on a notepad, so I can leave my iPhone plugged into the charger and desk speakers. This has forced me to think through every task a little bit more—making me more focused during the day to get these things done. It helps when it is done with a “My First Ticonderoga” pencil—which I love to use.
Tuesday, we step out of the office for lunch at a noodle place. Everyone must take off their shoes before entering. It’s funny, there are bookcases set up to place your shoes, but no one uses them—they just step over all of the shoes to get into this busy restaurant.
Thursday, I was reminded of the great hymn “Like a River Glorious”. It has such a comforting message about remaining in Christ.
Today, I needed to go to the office after hours. On my walk back, I enjoyed the beauty of the evening.
