It’s summer time and it is time for grilling outside. Last year, I didn’t grill as much because we had a new baby in the house that took most of our time. The years before that, we were in Germany—or Iraq.
It is good to grilling regularly again!

Thank you for contacting me about this. One of my favorite sayings is that : “The easiest ways to know God’s will is to join the Army; because the Army will tell you what God’s will is.” I would encourage you to trust in the Lord and his guidance during this time. If God wants you on active duty–no regulation will stand in the way; but trust God to place you where He wants you. I recommend speaking with your recruiter about your concerns as well as other options that may be available. In my experience, several senior Chaplains gained their commission through the reserve and then moved over to the Active side after spending several years as a reservist. So, if you believe this is God’s leading–don’t give up on the dream, but use each step as a move closer to the goal. Thank you again for contacting me.

Chaplain Andrews, I have contacted you in the past regarding my husband becoming a Chaplain. I realize that it’s getting difficult to get in right now, but my husband’s Chaplain recruiter acts like he doesn’t even want to help him begin the process. I advised him to find another recruiter that will work with him. His recruiter says there’s a slim chance he’ll get accepted as Active Duty because he doesn’t have 2 years of post-seminary experience. Though he does have 6 years of experience, just not after seminary. Could I get your opinion on this?
