I worked out in gym for the first time probably since COVID. It was good to get back in the gym working out. I’ve never been strongly comfortable in the gym until I worked out somewhat regularly at Planet Fitness in Alexandria, Virginia. There I had a routine that I went through several machines to work different parts of my body.
Today’s workout was different. As I am preparing for an upcoming ACFT, I chose three exercises that would target specific muscle groups that I haven’t been focused on.
My plan today looked like this:
Sumo deadlift 40lbs per hand 10reps 3 sets
Kettlebell Swings 40lbs 10reps 3 sets
Kettle Bell Carry 40lbs per hand 50 meters 4 sets
When I started I realized that I should’ve started with 20lbs and worked up to 30. However, I started with 30 to work up to 40 but didn’t have it in me. So, I stayed at 30lbs the three sets this time. I’ll get it soon enough.
I used my HIIT timer to keep me going and to mark my rest periods I’m so used to working out with HIIT it is always most comfortable if I have that to keep me moving.
Today’s workout was a good start of a new progression for me which I hope to carry on from here.
