As I was riding the bus home last night, there was a huge back-up of traffic as we slowly headed out the front gate of the Army post where I work. As we sat there, my daughter laughed about how all the Soldiers were sleeping. When one woke up, I heard him explain to his wife that he would be late and then went back to sleep. The only thing we could do is wait.
In the book of Psalms in the Bible, David wrote:
“I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry.” (Ps 40:1 ESV)
No one likes to wait and no one wants to wait, but the Bible tells us to “Wait on the Lord.”
Sometimes we must let things happen through God’s hand and not of our own. We can get very impatient if life doesn’t happen along our timeline. But God has proven time and again that he has a different timeline and a perfect one.
I encourage you to pause and reflect on what you are rushing in your life due to your own timeline and wait on the Lord. Wait for his hand to move. And watch has his hand moves.
