I used a Musgrave 909 pencil this morning with my reading…possibly my favorite so far, at least for reading and underlining.
Typically, during my morning Bible Reading, I use a Palomino Blackwing to underline passages as I read. I also use the pencil to underline in my devotional book as well. While I found that the Blackwing was, of course, a better pencil that an average Ticonderoga Pencil. I found that it lost its point earlier than desired and, therefore the lines continually became wider and wider.
But, this morning I was away from home and pulled out of my pencil bag a Musgrave 909 and decided to use that one. The pencil is a basic yellow one hexagon shaped. Almost seems unimpressive at first glance-but after-all it’s hard to make a pencil more impressive in appearance. You can paint it different colors and put different shapes to the eraser, but at the end of the day it’s still a pencil.
I found that the line the pencil was making was thinner than the Blackwing was making and the point was staying sharper longer. This was exactly what I was looking for to take notes in my Bible and other books. I found that the Musgrave 909 may become one of my go to pencils in the future.
