Neal Cavuto stated tonight on his program:
“When you become President of the United States, everything is an orchestra–that’s pretty cool!”
I agree, this is a wonderful expression of honor and pageantry toward our national leader. We in the military are very familiar with the honors that we render our country and how leaders. We are familiar with the importance of the presence of a band a large ceremonies. n our country we place a high honor on this pageantry when we celebrate men and women of importance.
Why is this different when we worship God?
Do we ask the people who see the President if they would prefer to have “Hail to the Chief” played when the President arrives or something with a beat to it?
Do we, in the military, choose not to salute if the President passes? If this happens–which I do not know of a case–it would be done in protest, not honor.
Why isn’t the same true in the Worship of Almighty God?
Do we place more emphasis in our worship on whether the non-Christian approves or not? Do we place more emphasis on whether we approve or not?
How is it that we honor the President of the United States, but treat God with contempt–but then expect God to honor our worship anyway?
