Being in Germany has been an experience. Many of these experiences I enjoy as I reflect back on the cities we’ve seen and the people we’ve met.
Then there is the rain.
It seems as if it has rained over the last two weeks—today being the first day of sunshine, only to be turned back into rain overnight.
I know that rain is why the grass is so green and the forests are so full. As I walk through the park I enjoy the grass, tree, rivers, and animals. Most of these would not be here without this rain.
Rain, however, also brings darkness and coldness.
I don’t remember being in a place that rains as much as this. It is a new experience. On top of the rain, the sun sets around 5pm right now—so the days are short and the nights are long.
It is a different experience for me to have this much rain, but like many of my experiences here in Germany, will soon leave and nod understandably when some talks to me about the rain.
Rain is not new, of course, but rain everyday? That’s different.
