A couple of years ago, I attended the Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief Retreat at Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, NC. I came home with a souvenir. I hope to one day be able to wear it for an actual disaster relief project. The retreat was a life changing look at what Disaster Relief can achieve when applied with the gospel.
I truly have a passion for Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Response and through this I read about many different agencies and Non-Government Organizations provided this response around the world. I have not seen a more professional nor more gospel centric organization than Samaritan’s Purse. After attending the retreat and after reading reports of their operations and systems, I am very impressed with the level of detail that Samaritan’s Purse plans to meet the needs of disaster survivors and displaced persons. This hat reminds me of that passion for disaster relief and the professionalism to perform this ministry well.
So, I picked up this hat at the Annual Volunteers Retreat and hope one day to wear it during a project. Most of the time, I am far away during major or even minor disasters. I have other ministry priorities that prevent me from dropping what I am doing to help out. I spend much of my time in disaster relief training and learning so one day I will be ready to go forward when the call goes out. I dream of being able to work with Samaritan’s Purse one day to bring needed ministry to those affected by disaster and this hat is a constant reminder of the day I will go.

Hello Pastor Keith! I just wanted to say how much I love this cap, especially with the name spelled out for all to see- I am thinking it would make a great ‘conversation starter’….I saw that SP does have a cap or two available, but this one is so much more clear and noticeable….I have been in touch with them about how great an item I thought it would be to have available (I was a marketing major- we never die!) If you should ever see one for sale please let me know; hopefully they will come up with a cap that beautiful of their own for the rest of us…
God Bless!
