After being at Disneyland, I have gotten a little used to receiving great service. Customer service is one of the things where Disney excells, so on my way home I don’t expect as much service, especially from the Pizza Delivery Guy. What I received tonight was just that—great service.
One of our routines for traveling is to order a pizza and play a movie when we check in. We typically arrive a little late and a pizza and movie night is fun. It also allows us not to have to deal with going out and finding a resturant, ording, eating, taking care of kids, and then returning to the hotel to get settled. We like to get settled while we wait for the pizza to arrive. We are usually ready for the movie and pizza when it arrives. We always forget the paper towels in the car and we always forget to get plates for the kids, so at times it gets a little messy.
Tonight, we ordered from Papa Johns #2803 and it was delivered by Eliseo. We brought up plates, napkins, Red Pepper, and Cheese—none of the things that we ever ask for. He brought them. That is service to me. He went above and beyond—where he could have simply brought the pizza and left—he thought ahead. Nobody has plates in a hotel. Nobody has napkins, or Red Pepper, or Cheese. He thought through that and took care of us.
It doesn’t take much to make people happy. It just takes service beyond expectations. It takes thinking through the needs of the customer and delivering. Thank you Eliseo, you delivered the Best Ingredient tonight!
