I received a new order of books today from Thriftbooks.com!
Over the last several months, I have been building a wishlist of some of the books I wanted to read and last week place my order.
I finished the latest John Le Carre book, “Agent Running in the Field“, over Christmas and was interested in reading another of his books. After finding “A Most Wanted Man”, I remembered that I have been wanting to read another Robert Ludlum book as well. I have never read the Bourne Identity, so I placed that in my wish list. I waited for a while as I am reading a couple other books and there is no rush. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I was listening to a very interesting book launch titled “The Abandonment of the West: The History of an Idea in American Foreign Policy” from the George Marshal Fund. (The YouTube replay is available here.) During his talk, the author, Michael Kimmage, mentioned that Eisenhower was the hero of the book and I wanted to read more about the specifics of the Eisenhower White House. That third book pushed my list over the $10 mark for free shipping, so it was time to order. Now, it looks like my reading list continues to grow.
