As many Christians do, I struggle with memorizing scripture. It is not that I don’t believe that it is important but sometimes, I simply get complacent and neglect this area of my Christian walk. With this in mind, I was thinking about Bible Memory the other day and remembered a little red book that I have carried with me and reference from time to time. The little book is called the “Treasure Path to Soul Winning“.
This little book is a book of Bible Verses aimed at being able to share the Gospel with others. Written in 1970by J.O. Grooms, this little book remains as relevant today as it was 45 years ago. Maybe even more. The book is set up as a series of exercises. Each assignment includes a focus topic, several verses that refer to that topic, and at the end of the page a place for the instructor to sign off that the page was memorized.
The TreasurePath.org website describes their resource by stating that “Treasure Path to Soul Winning” presents more than 60 verses in thirty-six assignments and the method to learn these verses within a group with the purpose of developing soul winners.”
This little book would be a great tool in one on one discipleship or to walk through with an entire church. It includes a progress page to chart the progress of the learner, tips for memorizing the Bible, and excellent encouraging stories to remind you of the importance of memorizing and sharing the Word of God with others.
