In my quest to visit all of the stand alone McDonald’s in Wiesbaden, I visited the Dotzheimer Strasse McDonald’s today. I took the bus across town reach this destination. The restaurant is nestled just outside the Guterbahnhof community and very close to the RheinMain University of Applied Science. The ride to visit was enjoyable and educational for me seeing another part of Wiesbaden. This McDonald’s has a covered “McDrive” drive-thru on the side and is a modern design structure.
The inside is very clean and contemporary. I ordered from the digital kiosk, which is very helpful with the language barrier. I will add, though, that McDonald’s in Germany typically have English speakers available to assist. There was plenty of seating on the floor of the restaurant. I sat in a curved booth and adjacent to me were several counters for quick lunches from local workers. Being a German holiday, the restaurant was not as busy as it appears it could get during a work day. There is also several picnic tables outside which would be very enjoyable in the summer time. Off the main counter was a separate McCafe counter with coffees and pastries for sale. For children there is a play tower outside and a small birthday room, which brought back memories of the simple parties in the 1980s in America. The food was delicious. I opted for a McCrispy Homestyle Chicken Sandwich with Curly fries and sour crème dip. I was surprised by the quality of the fresh lettuce and tomato that was served—the bun could not hold it all.
I had a wonderful visit to this McDonald’s. If it wasn’t on the other side of town, I would love to go back frequently. I hope to visit again, however, even just to try out the McCafe.
