On the last page of Supergirl#5, Supergirl says;
“Whatever becomes of me will be, in large part, because of you. All three of you. All the good and all the bad. My story isn’t over. It is now about the journey. The truth is what we discover every day. Not just about ourselves but within everyone. There will be different people who tell it differently, but it won’t matter. I know now. There is only one Supergirl. And that’s me.”
As I read this issue, I thought about the weaknesses in everybody and how they define us. Having a weakness isn’t bad, but what we do with it and how we overcome it for good. The Bible teaches that all of us are sinners. (I use this definition of sin: anything that you think, say, or do that makes God unhappy.) And that because of the sin, we must trust Jesus to save us. But why did God allow sin in the first place? I believe that it is because God wanted to give us a free choice, whether to accept Him or reject Him.Â
So, back to the comic, we are all sinners, yes, but what is important is how we develop ourselves, in spite of the sin inside us.
I didn’t set out to go all philosophical and stuff, but it does bring up the question. What do we do with our evil nature?
