Â
Last night I was reading an article in Wizard magazine #175 (May 2006) called “The Kubert Bros. A Day in the Life.â€Â I really enjoyed this piece.Â
The article chronologically traced the Kuberts day as they teach at “The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art†and their interaction with the DC publishers.
I enjoyed seeing some of the interaction with students and how they teach the students how the art is done in the Big Leagues. I don’t draw—yet—but I was able to take away some tips for when I do.
I was very interested in the article. I enjoyed reading how these articles spend their day—sometimes the reality of how the artist and writers spend their day makes the whole process real. I also get ideas of how to spend my day and how to pursue my dreams. These are doing what they have dreamed of doing—what can be better. I also am doing what I have dreamed of doing and it is good to see another model of how to take advantage of this opportunity and not let it slip away.
