One of the indulgences that I enjoy is a good midnight snack. I enjoy a nice treat in the evening, but at the same time, I still have to watch my weight. That is where the “Great American Chocolate Bar” comes in to play.
I know that a chocolate bar is not your first thought of healthy eating, but I must protest and explain.
At home, I used to enjoy cookies and milk before bed every night. I love cookies—especially Lemon Oreos. The problem is that cookies can be eaten continuously if there is not a mechanism to prohibit this. Many times, I would say that I only was getting two cookies, but I would take several sets of two at a time.
Then along comes the chocolate bar. I was walking through the commissary when I saw the Hershey Bars on the self. Hershey’s is my favorite candy bar—that is Hershey’s Milk Chocolate With no almonds, mints, or any other creativity. I like some other candy bars, but Hershey’s is on top of the list. So, I picked up a package of six bars. I enjoyed having them at various times of the day but no more than once a day. Then came the night when I ran out of cookies. That evening I enjoyed Hershey’s Milk Chocolate and a glass of milk—instead of the traditional cookies and milk. This snack was amazing!
Therefore, I have stopped buying cookies and save all of my extra calories for my beloved chocolate bar.
