Christmas time with four kids keeps us busy. One of the places to find a moment to test is the Annual Simgurus Live Yulelog Stream on Twitch.
Last night as we were leaving the Fred Loya Christmas Light show here in El Paso, I felt my phone vibrate from a notification. I didn’t think too much about it but wanted to double check. So, when we stopped in at the IHOP for dinner, I saw the notification that the Simgurus Twitch stream had started streaming. I was incredibly excited, so when we finally got home, I happily turned it on to share with the family.
I love playing The Sims and a couple of years ago, one of the producers of the game set up a livestream as a Yule log. The stream consists of a The Sims 4 game set to auto with the characters given enough money and resources to live their lives without any user interaction. Meanwhile, the viewers enjoy several days of an enjoyable chat. The stream is special to me because the year that it premiered was the year I spent Christmas in Korea. Separated from my family for a year, an otherwise lonely day was spent chatting and watching. It is my biggest memory from that Christmas.
Since that time there have been several other live-streams, but I always look forward to the Christmas stream that we are able to watch on the slow work days. It is also a treat to have some of the same people chatting each year.
So, as you prepare for Christmas this year, make sure you check-in on the “Bobsquad” on the Simgurus livestream.
