As we drove to the mall this evening, the kids began to sing the old favorite song “The Wheels on the Bus”. As they sung, I thought through the verses and considered how bad that bus ride truly was.
This is how bad it was:
- The wipers go “swish, swish, swish.” (Which means that it is raining.)
- The horn goes “beep, beep, beep.”
- The money goes “clink, clink, clink.”
- The Driver on the Bus says “Move on back! Move on back! Move on back!” (The driver is grumpy.)
- The Baby goes “Whaa! Whaa! Whaa!”
- The Mommy goes “Shush! Shush! Shush!”
- The Doors goes open and shut, open and shut, open and shut. (There’s a lot of people getting on this bus.)
- The Bell goes Ding! Ding! Ding! (Why does the bus have a bell and a horn?)
- The Lady says “Get off my feet! Get off my feet! Get off my feet!”
- The Bird goes “Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!” (I think the bird cage is on the lady’s lap)
- The Dog goes “Bark! Bark! Bark!” (The dog is barking at the bird)
- The Riders go up and down, up and down, up and down. (The road is bumpy)
- The family on the bus say “We had a nice ride! We had a nice ride! We had a nice ride!”
- The People on the bus say “Let me off. Let me off! Let me off!!”
Needless to say, that this was probably the world’s worst bus ride. I can’t believe my kids know all of the words.
