In Leavenworth, I found a nice little antique store with plenty of very creative decorating pieces. The visit was a welcome surprise in my first trip off post in Kansas.
Being home for a couple of weeks, I wanted to make sure that I took my truck to be serviced at the local Chevy Dealer. After driving off the lot, I turned a couple of turns and saw a little sign pointing to Sunflower Sisters Vintage just inside a fence. This little sign could my attention and I stopped for a quick visit to check it out.
Not expecting very much, I did not plan to stay very long—but found a small gold mine of carefully selected and restored decorations and antique furniture that can accent any country home. I walked away with a nice freshly painted little window where the glass was replaced with chalkboard plates. There were also other frames, dishes, and tables that caught my eye.
I was very happy to see the items they had on sale, but I was very happy with the delightfulness of the owners. They people that I met made me feel immediately at home, even though I had just walked in by chance during the off-hours of the store. They were more than happy to open the store up and let me roam.
